I have decided 2026 is going to be the year of savouring books, which for me means cutting back on the amount I read. Apart from readings books at certain times of the year to review them, my intention is to savour books, which means reading old favourites at the slow rate of one per month.
The final list for the year is undecided but is likely to include books by Ramsey Campbell, Jonathan Carroll, Angela Carter, Kim Newman, Caitlin R. Kiernan, William Kotzwinkle, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, and the late, great Peter Straub.
But which book to choose by each of them, that’s the problem, and as if to tempt fate and get in the way of my grand reading plans, the latest review books have arrived.
