OUT AND ABOUT

It is my wife who is the Munro-bagger, which means that she climbs the mountains in Scotland that are over 3000 feet. There are 282 of these, many in remote places, some on islands, so she stays in hostels and bunkhouses, even wild camping at times. In 2025 we managed to visit the Isle of Mull so she could bag Ben More. Rather confusingly there is another Ben More, also a Munro, but this one is near Crainlarich in the Trossachs.

I’m not in that hill walking league, but I do manage to get out and about as we love to walk and there are some great walks locally, many of which we didn’t know about until we got our old lab Molly, and these walks continue with Jessie.

Out and about also includes running with my local Jog Scotland group, and playing tennis at two local clubs, and also taking part in the Glasgow Singles Tennis League.

For me, writing means going to conventions, particularly Fantasycon which is run by the British Fantasy Society, and over the years I’ve really got to know places like York and Nottingham and Chester. 2025 saw the World Fantasy Convention returning to Brighton, one of my favourite cities after attending several conventions there, hope you enjoy the street art pictures, followed by some pictures from a visit to the Lake District.
