WRITING

My writing includes the children’s novels The Dark Knight’s Blade (inspired by my love of the film A Chinese Ghost Story), Lipstick Lass (inspired by my son’s love of the Captain Underpants books, and my daughter’s love of The Powerpuff Girls), The Magic Mousehole, and Santa Claus is Missing. Sequels to The Dark Knight’s Blade, Lipstick Lass and The Magic Mousehole are in the pipeline, but I’m not exactly sure where that pipeline ends right at the moment.

Over the years, my short stories and poems have appeared in New Writing Scotland, Best British Horror, The Ultimate Dragon, Star*Line, Postscripts, Gallus, 30 Years of Rain and many other magazines and anthologies in the UK, USA, and Canada.

I have been a member of many local writers’ groups over the years, and I am currently a member of the Glasgow Science Fiction Writers Circle and Bigger Writers Association. I have twice been a writer-in-residence in Glasgow and Clackmannanshire.

I was lucky enough to have several poems published in 2025 in places like “Viridine Literary”, “Star*Line”, “TV-63”, and I also became a “Horrific Scribe” for my three poems “Something Down the Dark Alley Looks Like Elvis”, “Ghosts from a Christmas Carol”, and “When We Were Dressed as a Pantomime Horse”. I attended the World Fantasy Convention in Brighton at the end of last year and promoted three new eBooks – two poetry chapbooks “Failures of the Clown Prosecution Service” and “The Routine After the End of the World”; and the first of a series of novellas set in The East Nuked of Fife called “The Monster of Gorgon”. Here are their covers.
